| Spring Buds |
Time for a new beginning!
It's Spring, and the birds have returned, there are buds on the earliest trees, the wind is blowing, and the sunshine is making a tentative return in Indiana.
Though it wasn't a cold winter, it seemed like a long one. I'd rather have the brisk bright freezing weather than warmth with gray skies. Other than Christmas with my family and my Peyton's second Super Bowl win, there weren't many highlights.
It seems like only yesterday that homes were being listed in a market where there weren't that many qualified buyers. Though interest rates were low, the requirements to get a mortgage were stricter than ever. And for sellers, falling home values meant that in many cases they couldn't list their home whether they wanted to move or not. But it's time to start thinking about the real estate market differently.
Time for a New Address?
Today, there are more qualified buyers while inventory is a little on the low side. Even in Montgomery County, Indiana, properties that are move in ready, in great condition, in a super location, or all of the above, are attracting multiple offers. This makes for hard work for buyers and their agents. But every problem also presents an opportunity, right?
If you've waited for the right time to sell your home, this may be it. And with interest rates still at historic lows, your new mortgage won't hurt a bit.
Timing is Everything!
Many sellers are waiting to list there homes when the weather is a bit warmer. This might be a mistake. In fact, there's a lot to be said about listing right now, while there is still a strong demand but the market has fewer listings, or, in other words, less competition.
